Who We Are

Gail Schaper-Gordon, Ph.D.
Founder, Senior Consultant

Dr. Schaper-Gordon has a passion for working with entrepreneurs, CEOs and business owners to help them become more effective leaders and to build successful organizations where their employees are able to achieve their full potential. She is both a respected business psychologist and an experienced business owner who knows how to work in sensitive and complex situations. From her experiences as a founder and CEO of a behavioral health provider network, Gail went on to develop her unique skills as an organizational psychologist.

Gail has been helping leaders grow their businesses and achieve their goals for more than two decades, one business at a time. By helping them to inspire their employees with a vision and facilitating a process that engages employees throughout the organization, she’s grown new leaders and helped transform stale businesses into thriving enterprises.

Since becoming a Vistage Peer Advisory Group Chair in 2008 her work has been enhanced exponentially by working with 20- 30 leaders and companies at one time who benefit from the combined business experiences of their peers, expert speakers and resources of a 50+ year old organization with more than 14,500 members around the globe.

Gail received the Small Business Achievement Award for Excellence in Business Advocacy from the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA). She has also served on the board and chaired many committees for business, professional and non-profit organizations.

Gail (a proud mother and grandmother) and her actor/attorney husband, Barry Gordon, live in Pasadena and enjoy watching the latest movies and hiking the Arroyo with their dog, Truman.

Sam’s top five strengths from StrengthsFinder 2.0 (Woo, Individualization, Communication, Futuristic, Ideation) all point to someone who enjoys working collaboratively with others toward a better future. Whether it is working together with a business owner to hire just the right person to run their operations, or grooming a new GM to run a troubled satellite office, or helping refine the effectiveness of an executive leadership team — or as one owner commissioned him, “to make all my project managers more emotionally intelligent” — Sam is doing what he was meant to do.

Sam Alibrando is also an author. His seminal work on the change process is Follow the Yellow Brick Road: How to Change for the Better When Life Gives You Its Worst. Read more about his book at http://www.yellowbrickroad-book.com/.

Sam has accumulated many interests and experiences over 30 years as consultant, clinician, director, author, trainer and workshop facilitator, adjunct professor, mediator and collaborative law coach, and board advisor. However, all these experiences and roles are aimed toward one end: to help individuals and organizations become better at what they do and to do that with integrity and joy.
